Veterans, active-duty eligible for Harvard Kennedy School MPA program

Dec. 1 is deadline to apply for one-year Mid-Career Master in Public Administration Program.

Veterans and active-duty military are among those encouraged to apply for a new initiative at Harvard Kennedy School aimed at empowering public servants to tackle the nation’s biggest challenges and lead the country into the future.

The American Service Fellowship will provide a full scholarship and stipend for at least 50 public servants to enroll in Harvard Kennedy School’s one-year Mid-Career Master in Public Administration (MC/MPA) Program.

Applicants for the American Service Fellowship must have a bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record, and at least seven years of work experience in the public sector in or for the United States. That includes U.S. military veterans and active-duty military; federal, state, tribal, and local public employees; and alumni of full-time civilian service programs.

Those accepted into the one-year, on-campus program will be able to develop their own course of study with guidance by Harvard Kennedy School advisors and mentors. The school is located in Cambridge, Mass.

The application deadline is noon ET Dec. 1, with a Jan. 16, 2026 deadline for the financial aid application. Notification of acceptance into the program will come in mid-March 2026.
